Day 1

Route: Arrival > Negombo

• Ayubowan (May you live long!).
• Your friendly Sri Lanka driver/guide will welcome you and then you will be transferred to the fishing village of Negombo, located near the airport so you can relax after a long flight journey.
• Negombo is certainly not just to relax on the beach, but this coastal city has a rich history to share with you.

Day 2

Route: Negombo > Habarana > Dambulla

Highlihts:

• After breakfast, visit one of the country’s busiest fishing centre, where colourful rural boats sailing in the sea.
• Make a city tour to see the remaining of the Dutch period architectures, canals, a Buddhist temple, a Catholic church.
• Then depart to the cultural triangle at the centre of the island in the morning.
• Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple UNESCO World Heritage site, the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka.
• Stay overnight in Sigiriya/Habarana.

Day 3

Route: Polonnaruwa > Sigiriya rock fortress

Highlihts:

• Visit one of Asia’s most spectacular cultural sites the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the UNESCO World Heritage site. Only the fit and adventurous will be able to climb the summit, but all can enjoy the ancient ruins and wonderful sights around the base and halfway on the hike. It's home to water gardens, frescoes and ancient graffiti.
• Afternoon, visit Polonnaruwa, the ancient city is also rich in monasteries and Buddhist remains from this kingdom. The most interesting of all would be the ‘Gal Vihara’, meaning the rock Temple.
• Stay overnight in Habarana/ Sigiriya.

• Jeep safari at Minneriya National Park
• Visit a rural village and experience Sri Lanka’s calm rural village life.

Day 4

Route: Dambulla > Matale > Kandy

• After breakfast, depart to Kandy via Matale.
• On the way to Kandy, visit Matale Aluvihare Temple where Buddhist doctrines were first documented on Ola leaves on 1st century after passing through orally from generation to generation and Spice Garden at Matale.
• Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, The Temple of the Tooth Relic.
• See famous Blue & Star sapphires are mined cut and polished using traditional methods.
• End the day enjoying a culture show in Kandy.

Day 5

Route: Kandy city tour

• Visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden at Peradeniya in the morning which is well-known for its collection of over 4000 species of plants, including of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees.
• It’s also worthy to tour around Kandy, beautiful lake, colourful streets, colonial architecture, museums, an arts and crafts workshop, oriental market place and a bazaar.
• Stay overnight in Kandy.

Day 6

Route: Kandy > Nuwara Eliya

• Head over to Nuwara Eliya, the ‘little England’, popular for its Victorian-era structures and the mild weather. It’s chilled-out weather and eccentric scenes of tea plantations, waterfalls and mountain ranges.
• Visit Tea Factory to see how the tea you drink is produced.
• It’s worth to visit Local Market and Gregory Lake in the evening.
• Stay overnight in Nuwara Eliya

Day 7

Route: Hoton plains

• This morning after breakfast, depart to The Horton Plains, which is a stunning, silent and strange world with some fantastic hikes in the shadows of Sri Lanka’s second and third highest mountains. The plains themselves rich in biodiversity and with a high proportion of locally endemic species. The park's altitude is 2,100 – 2,300 metres and is covered by wild grasslands and combinations of thick forest, rocky outcrops, filigree waterfalls and misty lakes. The main attraction is the point called Worlds End, where you can see the ground drop 880 metres. If lucky enough, you will beat the fog and mist to be able to see jaw-dropping views of miniature tea plantation villages in the valley below, all the way out to the south coast.

Day 8

Route: Ella > Kataragama > Yala

• Transfer to Yala after breakfast.
• On the way, visit Ella Gap & Rawana Falls.
• Reach the hotel in Yala and prepare yourself for a jeep safari at the most visited and popular park in the country, The Yala National Park. It has a remarkable characteristic of the tropical forest bordering the sea.
• Visit the Kataragama Hindu Kovil, an ancient pilgrimage site where all main religions are worshipped. Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians visit this ancient holy site. It is believed that King Dutugemunu the warrior king and Sinhala popular hero built a monument here for the worship of the Kataragama God in the 2nd century BC.
• Stay overnight in Tissa / Yala.

Day 9

Route: Yala national park

• Early morning prepare yourself for a jeep safari at the most visited and popular park in the country, The Yala National Park. It has a remarkable characteristic of the tropical forest bordering the sea. Your opportunity to catch the sight of the Sri Lankan Leopard, Asian Elephant, and many other mammals and birds in their natural habitat going on a Safari and in the wild.
• Stay overnight in Tissa / Yala.

Day 10

Route: South / west coast
Drive:
Hotel: Hotel in South Coast Beach

• After breakfast, proceed to see the famous stilt fishermen, Salt Refinery and Fishing harbour in Hambantota on your way to Galle.
• Make a city tour in Galle city, UNESCO World Heritage Site where tiny back streets in the Dutch Fort.
• Visit the Galle Lighthouse, and enjoy a nice round tour to the Dutch fort. You might like to buy some products from the quirky shops, stopping in a local cafe for lunch.
• Do not forget to visit Galle National Museum.
• Stay overnight in South Coast Beach.

Day 11

Route: Colombo – departure

• After breakfast at the hotel, depart to Colombo.
• En-route visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery.It is home to Sri Lanka’s pioneering sea turtle conservation project, operated with the help of international volunteers.
• Later make a city tour in Colombo.It also recommended going for a City Walk which is complementary on your [sensitive content]lombo has got Ayurvedic centres, Dutch Architecture of Pettah, Colonial-era remaining, Fort, Galle Face Green, and Independence Square, Old Parliament House and Beira Lake surroundings.
• Do not forget to do some last-minute shopping in shopping malls like House Fashion and Odel or an extended stay can be arranged.
